for the meatballs
 500 g Beef, Ground
 1 piece Garlic
 0.25 cup breadcrumbs
 1 piece Eggs, raw
 Sea Salt
 Black Pepper Crushed
 1 cup squash, boiled
for the kare-kare sauce
 0.25 cup Peanut butter
 6 tbsp atsuete oil
 1 piece bulb of garlic, minced
 1 piece red onions, minced
 0.25 cup Fish sauce
 Water
for the casserole
 4 piece eggplants, sliced thinly into strips
 Vegetable Oil

For the meatballs:

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt & pepper.

Gently mix to incorporate all the ingredients.

Form the ground beef into 1 tbsp-sized meatballs.

Set aside and refrigerate until needed.

For the Kare-Kare sauce: In the same blender, add all the ingredients for the kare-kare sauce.

Blend under the smoothie function until it turns into a buttery puree.

Set the sauce aside until needed for assembly.

For the casserole: Preheat Oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

Grease a casserole or deep dish pan with oil.

Line the bottom of the pan with eggplant strips.

On top of the layer, line the meatballs evenly.

Spoon a layer of kare-kare sauce over top of the meatballs.

Sprinkle the pili crumble on top of the sauce.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until the meatballs have cooked through and the casserole is bubbling.
